Curriculum Vitae - William K. Hutchinson

William is author of the novel and screenplay From da Big Island, a freelance writer, editor, web developer, web designer, tutor, consultant, and published author. He was a professor at Charter College instructing Student Success Strategies/Critical Thinking and Business courses utilizing on-ground and blended learning modalities.

Prior to teaching at Charter College, William Hutchinson was engaged by The Boeing Company for over twenty-six years holding various management and non-management positions, ending with the Information Technology group as a Business Resource Systems Applications Analyst supporting the Print Services team with Project Management. He also managed Creative Services personnel and was involved in all facets of video productions, motion picture licensing, and photographic operations.

During his tenure at Boeing, his duties included business and strategic planning, enterprise coordination, team initiatives, gathering expectations and requirements for improvement of business systems, processes, and procedures.  Internally, he worked with personnel from the CEO down to the non-management level; externally, interfacing with the White House, the Pentagon, the Air Force, the Navy, and a variety of television, recording, and motion picture studios. He also wrote technical and monthly status reports that went to various government agencies.

Professor Hutchinson is multilingual, educated in Asia, Europe, and the United States, in English, Japanese, Italian, Spanish, and German. He has a Master of Fine Arts (terminal) degree in Scriptwriting from Chapman University and a Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University in Business Management both earned while working full time and maintaining a flawless attendance record for over half the time we worked for Boeing.

He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film and Video Production from California Institute of the Arts, the college established by Walt Disney. While there, he participated in internships at ABC-TV and Walt Disney Studios, which provided insight and knowledge in both television and film production. While at Disney Studios, Professor Hutchinson interned on the last "studio film" produced by the studios.

His articles and photographs have appeared in Condé Nast Traveler, International Travel News, Arthur Frommer's Budget Travel, Aviation Week & Space Technology, and in the internal publications and annual reports for The Boeing Company, United Airlines, The Walt Disney Company, the American Automobile Association, and other companies and genealogical publications.  His video work has appeared in numerous television productions throughout the world.

At Boeing and United Airlines he wrote assorted computer programs that afforded both tangible and intangible savings to the Company.  A Charter College he helped launch and administered MoodleRooms, a Learning Management System (LMS).  He is the recipient of numerous awards for innovation of his cost-saving concepts.

Affiliations include membership in the American Film Institute, Filmex, Nikon Professional Services, and the Southern California Genealogical Society.
 
External to Boeing, Professor Hutchinson donates his time and expertise on motion picture and television projects and web design to a variety of bonsai, and genealogical organizations.
